Salon Moves from Georgia Avenue to Bonifant Location

Salon Zoma has moved from its Georgia Avenue location to 919 Bonifant St. on the ground floor of The Bonifant apartments.

Owner Fasika Kebede opened her first location as an Aveda “concept salon” in 2010, she said, offering Aveda’s environmentally friendly products exclusively. The new shop continues that concept.

“[It’s a] better location, definitely,” she said about the Bonifant address. “More foot traffic. We needed more foot traffic.”

The shop currently employs three stylists including Kebede, who’s been one since 2004. The salon offers full services for hair (cut, style, color, etc.) as well as facial waxing.

“I’m adding a few people in the coming weeks,” she said about her staffing.

The salon’s website has a link to shop online for the full line of Aveda products. The site also includes a link to Aveda’s collection of how-to tutorials for do-it-yourselfers, or to get ideas for a new style.

The salon’s hours of operation are Tuesday–Thursday, 11 a.m.—7 p.m., Friday 10 a.m.–7 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.–4 p.m. The shop is closed on Monday.

Salon Zoma filled the last retail space in the building, which provides senior housing next to the Silver Spring Library.
