Silver Spring Library will have extended summer hours

The Silver Spring Library will be open for extended summer hours beginning this weekend.

The library, at 900 Wayne Ave., will open at 9 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays, one hour earlier than usual. It will close at 9 p.m. those nights, three hours later than the rest of the year.

Summer hours will be in effect from May 26 until September 2. Hours of operation on Sundays (1-5 p.m.) and Mondays through Thursdays (9 a.m.-9 p.m.) will not change.

The library will be closed Monday, May 29 for Memorial Day, as well as Sunday and Monday, July 3 and 4, for the Fourth of July holiday.
