Work is underway on the Spring Street/Cedar Street separated bike lanes.

A portion of the lanes on Spring Street is in a dedicated path. Most of the lanes will be delineated by striping and flexposts.

Parking along the streets will be maintained and parked cars will provide an additional buffer.

The lanes will run from Second Street across Colesville Road to Wayne Avenue. Construction is expected to take about two months.

The project is part of a network of bike lanes planned for downtown Silver Spring and elsewhere in the county.
