The county’s Department of Recreation has released the schedule of performers for its Silver Spring Summer Concert series.
The free series opens this Thursday, June 15 on Veterans’ Plaza and will feature performances every Thursday evening through August 3. Shows run from 7-9 p.m.
The performers include:
June 15 – Built for Comfort Band – Blues, Soul, R&B, Americana and Rock favorites
June 22 – Bobby & the Believers – Classic horn band
June 29 – David Bach Consort – Smooth Jazz
July 6 – MoCo’s Got Talent – Youth Performances
July 13 – Second Wind – 80s Hits
July 20 – Gary and the Groove – 60s Covers
July 27 – Rock & Roll Relics – Oldies
August 3 – Moxie Blues Band – Blues
During the shows, attendees can find dancing, face painting and games for kids. The concert series features a raffle with prizes for adults as well as toys and gifts for children. The raffle opens at 6:30 p.m. and drawings held at intermission. Attendees may bring picnics or buy food at one of the nearby restaurants.
If it’s raining at 7 p.m. on the night of a show, the performance will be canceled.
