Not Your Average Joe’s Has Permanently Closed in Ellsworth Place

Not Your Average Joe’s restaurant in Ellsworth Place has permanently closed, according to an email sent to customers today (July 9) and forwarded to the Source.

The message, signed by Peter D’Amelio, the company’s chairman and CEO, reads, “We have truly enjoyed being part of the Silver Spring community, and we’ll miss all the great moments and friendships we’ve shared over the years.”

The Silver Spring location opened in July 2016. The Massachusetts-based chain closed all 24 of its outlets in March due the coronavirus, and began opening some locations for takeout and delivery in April.

D’Amelio referred customers to the company’s Bethesda location. A location in the Kentlands in Gaithersburg is still listed on the NYAJ website as open for takeout and delivery.

It’s unclear if any other locations have been shut down.
