Pollo Campero is putting the finishing touches on its new location at 8666 Colesville Road, in the former DaMarco Grappa Bar.

As we previously reported in April, Pollo Campero, which bills itself as “the world’s largest Latin chicken chain,” was originally planning for a mid-May opening. According to the construction foreman, the opening was pushed to the July 4th weekend, however they are now looking at opening in mid-July.

Two factors are pushing back the opening. One is a delay in the delivery of new plate glass to be installed in the front of the store. The other is a Pepco delay in upgrading the power on the site. Once those issues are resolved (they appear to be nearing glass installation), they can officially open.
