Washington, D.C.-based clothing retailer Xtra Ordinaire Apparel has opened in the former home of New York & Company at 937 Ellsworth Drive in Downtown Silver Spring.
The retailer has signed a short-term lease, according to Laurie Yankowski, regional marketing director for The Peterson Companies, which co-owns the Downtown Silver Spring development. Also known commercially as XOA Lifestyle, the retailer also has locations in Fashion Centre at Pentagon City in Arlington, Va., and in Atlanta, Ga.
According to the retailer’s website, Xtra Ordinaire Apparel “is a multi-functional, unisex, global lifestyle brand that was initially formed in 2016, by three free progressive thinkers raised in the heart of the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. This fusion produced a creative, timeless, high-quality fashion streetwear clothing line. Founded with the thought to appease the ever-changing, millennial generation multifaceted audience, at Xtra Ordinaire, we place an immense level of effort to appease the apparel needs of individuals who are passionate about their crafts and refuse to take a day off from chasing their dreams and desires.”
