Detectives Investigating Attempted Robbery of Food Truck in Silver Spring

County detectives with the Major Crimes Division are still investigating an attempted armed robbery of a food truck in downtown Silver Spring that took place in October.

The police have now released surveillance video of the suspect in the incident, which took place at about 5:40 p.m. on Oct. 12.

3rd District officers responded to the report of the attempt on the Silver Hot Dog food truck, located at 1112 Wayne Ave.

“The investigation by Major Crimes detectives has determined that the suspect approached the employee working in the food truck, threatened the employee with a weapon, and demanded cash from the business,” according to a press release.

“The suspect did not obtain any property or cash and fled on foot toward the Silver Spring Metro Station,” the release added.
