Krazy Steve’s Comfort Cuisine to Close Thursday

Krazy Steve’s Comfort Cuisine will cease operations Thursday, January 21, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

“Thursday will be our last day of operations,” the post reads. “Come join us for great close out deals on all our incredible Pit Master BBQ and Sides. If you’ve visited us you’ll want us one last time. If you haven’t tried us, this is your last chance for true Pit Master BBQ This side of Texas.”

We reported earlier this month that Krazy Steve’s would be closing on or before January 21, according to owner Stephen Adelson.

“I have catering gigs scheduled up until basically the day of our closing,” he said. “We’re open for business [until then].”

“Like all the restaurants, we’re struggling during COVID,” Adelson said. “When COVID hit, I negotiated with the landlord in good faith a percentage rent.”

The reduced rent was a short-term agreement and the two sides were unable to agree on a long-term deal, as the restaurant was “hemorrhaging money,” he said.

Adelson opened the restaurant in June 2019 featuring barbecue with traditional sides like greens, cole slaw, and corn bread, along with specialty pizzas. He began offering a weekend brunch in November of that year.

Krazy Steve’s, located at 1909 Seminary Rd., is a brick-and-mortar outlet for Carnivore BBQ, Adelson’s food truck business that he started in 2010 and grew to four trucks.

Adelson said he will look for a new location and may continue to operate the food trucks.

Krazy Steve’s closing was first reported by The MoCo Show.
