Silver Branch Brewing Company will mark its second anniversary with a five-day series of events beginning tomorrow, March 3, the Silver Spring brewery announced.
The first event Wednesday will be the release of “a bigger and bolder version” of Sisyphus, the first beer the brewery released when it opened in 2019.
Silver Branch will tap a special Gravity Lager Glass Castle at 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will feature three days of Sausage Fest.
The special event will be a socially distanced party in the expanded outdoor biergarten from 3–10 p.m. and then again all day Saturday with pretzels and grilled brats. Sunday’s hours for the festival will be noon–5 p.m.
Limited indoor seating will again be available; the brewery was forced to closed one week after their first anniversary due to the pandemic.
“We never dreamed a year ago that our entire second year would be defined by COVID, but thanks to the amazing support of all of our fans we are still here and increasingly optimistic about the future,” said Christian Layke, co-founder and CEO.
As part of their anniversary celebrations, Silver Branch will open their Explorers Club for new members. Last year, new members helped provide much needed cash and a significant morale boost after COVID hit, according to the company.
“It is difficult to overstate how much the Explorers Club fundraising helped us last year,” said Brett Robison, co-founder and COO. “Financially, it allowed us to move forward at a highly uncertain time, but it also gave us confidence that our community has our back.”
Explorers Club members receive various benefits, including Silver Branch merchandise.
The brewery is located at 8401 Colesville Rd., #150, overlooking Colesville Road and Second Avenue across from the Silver Spring Transit Center.
