Ruang Khao Thai Cuisine has rebranded to The Pepper Thai Kitchen, according to new signage posted at the restaurant’s location at 939 Bonifant Street in downtown Silver Spring.
The restaurant’s ownership appears to be the same, according to documents filed with the State of Maryland. Documents filed by Chao Phraya Group, LLC described the business filing as “Re-naming our restaurant to The Pepper Thai Kitchen from Ruang Khao Thai Cuisine.” The restaurant has also been renovated, according to a post on the outlet’s Facebook page.
Diners can find the restaurant’s menu on their new website, thepepperthai.com. Pickup orders can be placed on the restaurant’s website, and delivery is also available via Uber Eats, Grubhub, and DoorDash.
Local musician Jennifer Cutting raved about one of the restaurant’s dishes in a Facebook post last November. “YOU’LL WANT TO ORDER THIS DISH RIGHT AWAY! “ASIAN PUMPKIN” (some cool kind of green-skinned orange squash in a red curry sauce with red bell pepper, basil, green onion, and your choice of chicken, beef, shrimp, or mixed seafood). $14.95 for a huge serving that will last you for several meals. From a tiny Thai restaurant in Silver Spring, Maryland called Ruang Khao. Your order will keep them open for another day, and you’ll get a great new bouquet of flavors on your taste buds. (It was wonderfully restorative after another hour in the dentist’s chair). Help a little Thai restaurant, and treat yourself in the process!”
