Silver Branch Brewing Co. will be marking a rerelease of a Kölsch-style beer, Ümläüt Lövë, with a weekend of special events Thursday, May 20 through Saturday, May 22.
Kölsch is a beer that originated in Cologne, Germany, and now has protected status within the European Union. It is defined as a beer that is made within 30 miles of the city of Cologne, brewed according to a strictly defined manner, and with a light ABV for summer drinking.
During the event, servers will be offering beer in the style in which it is served in Cologne, passing through with trays of beers. Patrons can purchase tokens for the event and simply exchange one token for a beer.
In addition, the brewery will tap a special gravity cask of the brew at 4:30 on Thursday to begin the service.
On Friday and Saturday, Silver Branch will be serving brats on the grill and feature live music. Hays Dowdy will play from 5–8 p.m. on Friday and the Bags Howard Band will take the stage Saturday from 3-6 p.m.
Tickets are $25, can be purchased online, and include five Kölsch tokens. More tokens will be available for purchase at the brewery if desired.
