County to Begin Accepting Applications Monday for Events at Civic Building, Plaza

The county’s Community Use of Public Facilities office will begin accepting applications Monday, May 24 for events in the Silver Spring Civic Building and on Veterans Plaza, according to a Facebook post from Eric Rasch, operations manager for the facility.

The building will be open for events as of June 1, Rasch wrote, “as long as the event is consistent with the state and county restrictions including specific guidance on gatherings.”

Information about the facilities and amenities is available online, and reservations can be made online with an Active Montgomery account, or by downloading an application.

Fees are by the hour and vary by type of space being reserved. They are structured at three levels for non-profits, county residents or small business, and non-resident or commercial use. Fees are slightly higher for Friday, Saturday or Sunday use.

There also can be additional fees for county staffing if needed, or additional equipment such as a low stage.
