Moorenko’s Cookie Overload ice cream has been listed as one of Washingtonian Magazine’s ten favorite local ice cream flavors.
Cookie Overload, which is a favorite among Yelp reviewers, is one of the classic flavors listed on Moorenko’s website. “I had the Cookie Overload and my boyfriend had the Honey Lavender,” reads a 2017 review. “Both were delicious, but that Cookie Overload will have me back soon!”
Moorenko’s recently teamed up with two local businesses to offer coffee, pastries, and ice cream all under one roof, at Moorenko’s Ice Cream Café at 8030 Georgia Ave.
Bump ’n Grind, which closed its outlet at 1200 East-West Highway near the end of May and opened a kiosk at the Silver Spring Library last month, is serving its coffee and espresso drinks at Moorenko’s.
In addition, customers can now buy pastries from Patisserie Manuel, which has operated a kitchen at 8810 Brookville Rd.
The patisserie offers continental-style pastries, bread, and desserts as well as Chilean specialties. The breakfast pastries will be featured at Moorenko’s.
The café also has increased its operating hours and is now open Sunday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
