Black Lion Café, a Rockville-based coffee shop and roaster, plans to open a location in the Fenton Silver Spring apartments, according to signs in the windows on the corner of Fenton Street and Thayer Ave. in downtown Silver Spring.
The café, owned by Emmanuel Manoles, specializes in coffees from three regions in Ethiopia—Sidama, Harrar and Yirgacheffe, all roasted in small batches in house, according to the café’s website.
In addition to coffee and assorted teas, the restaurant offers espresso drinks, smoothies and frapps, along with vegan cakes and pastries. Patrons can also order coffee beans.
Black Lion was featured three years ago in a video from the Montgomery County Economic Development Corp.
