All Set, Money Muscle BBQ Adding Vegetarian and Vegan Menus

Downtown Silver Spring’s All Set Restaurant & Bar will offer a new exclusively vegetarian and vegan menu for lunch and dinner services on Tuesdays, starting later this month.

Officially launching on Tuesday, August 31, the new menu features favorites from All Set’s daily menu in addition to a wide selection of new plant-based dishes from Chef Ed Reavis, according to a press release. Reavis, a health & fitness enthusiast, was inspired to create the menu following a recent partnership with Shouk, a local plant-based fast-casual chain.

The idea of vegetable-focused BBQ appealed to Reavis, who spent three months developing and testing a menu that would not only be more environmentally sustainable but sustainable for his two businesses as well.

“The pandemic was a health scare for so many people, especially in the Black community,” Reavis said to Washington City Paper. “I’m from the South. We eat Southern homestyle food, but trying to do those things in a healthy way got me excited.”

Two new menu items feature a distinct smoky flavor, courtesy of the smokers powering All Set’s sister restaurant & food truck, Money Muscle BBQ: Smoked Mushroom Sandwich with pulled BBQ Cremini, Shiitake and Oyster Mushrooms, Zucchini Pickles, Coleslaw, Fried Shallots, and North Carolina BBQ Sauce, and Smoked Mushroom Risotto with Parmesan, Fried Shallots and Lemon Zest; the sandwich will additionally be available on the food truck’s daily menu. Other notable vegan additions include the Nashville Hot Eggplant Sandwich with Dill Pickles, Coleslaw and Ranch, Jerk BBQ Jackfruit Tacos with Pineapple Salsa, Radish, and Cilantro, and tempura-battered Buffalo Cauliflower Nuggets served with blue cheese.
