Police Charge Two Teens as Adults in Silver Spring Carjacking

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police – 3rd District Investigative Section have arrested and charged two teenagers as adults in an armed carjacking that occurred on Wayne Avenue in Silver Spring. 

At approximately 10 p.m. on August 5, the victim was approached by two subjects, one of whom was armed with a handgun.

“The subjects demanded multiple items from the victim. The subjects then fled in the victim’s vehicle,” according to a press release.

Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Tyler Scott and Christopher Harris, both age 17, and arrested them at their homes on Wednesday, Sept. 8. The two are charged with armed robbery, armed carjacking, and auto theft.

Both suspects were transported to the Central Processing Unit, where they are being held without bond.
