County Will Add New Vaccination Site in Silver Spring Next Week

The county will add new COVID-19 vaccination sites to those it already operates in anticipation of increased demand for booster shots, health officials announced.

One of the new sites will be located in the Silver Spring Civic Building, 1 Veterans Plaza, as of Monday, Oct. 11. The site will offer Pfizer boosters to eligible residents, as well as first and second doses of Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

Vaccinations will be available at the civic building Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition, the Dennis Avenue Health Center, near the intersection with Georgia Avenue, will offer vaccinations on select days in addition to COVID-19 testing.

The county announced in September that COVID-19 vaccine booster shots are now available in the county for those who are 65 or older and got two doses of the Pfizer vaccine, and certain other groups.

More information about vaccination eligibility is available online, as well as the ability to make an appointment (walk-ins will be accepted).
