Silver Spring’s Rohobot Ethiopian Restaurant — originally featured last March by Washington Post food critic Tom Sietsema as one of his 8 Favorite Places to Eat Right Now, has been featured once again — this time in the Post’s 2021 Fall Dining Guide.
Mr. Sietsema once again gave the restaurant praise for its takeout packaging:
The award for the best-insulated delivery meal goes to this plain, 30-seat storefront in Silver Spring, which bundles its vegetable combination like a babushka wraps a baby: so completely, it’s hard to see what’s inside. Peel back the folds of injera, though, and you witness a kaleidoscope of yellow lentils, dark green collards, crimson beets and turmeric-colored cabbage with bright orange carrots.
The restaurant, located at 7833 Eastern Ave. in Silver Spring, is currently open for indoor dining and takeout, and delivery is available via DoorDash, Grubhub, Postmates, and Uber Eats.
Several Ethiopian restaurants in Silver Spring have received high marks from critics recently. Beteseb was noted by Eater D.C. and Thrillist in January and February, respectively, and Washington City Paper’s Laura Hayes named Langano’s kitfo sandwich as one of her 12 Favorite Fall Sandwiches last October.
