Popeyes is now hiring for its upcoming location at 8401 Georgia Ave. in downtown Silver Spring, according to signage posted at the storefront.
Construction has been underway for several months to convert the space formerly occupied by Bombay Gaylord, but they are looking to wrap up construction and be open within the next two weeks, an on-site worker said today.
Bombay Gaylord closed following a fire in 2015. Chef/owner Kalistus Gomes eventually decided to relocate to Olney and opened Nirvana in 2018.
Popeyes was founded in a New Orleans suburb in 1972 and currently has more than 2,700 outlets around the country, many of them local franchises. The menu features Cajun-spiced fried chicken and tenders, along with biscuits and other side orders.
