Kusshi Ko will open in the former Gusto Farm to Street location at 8512 Fenton St. in Downtown Silver Spring, according to recent reports from Bethesda Beat and The MoCo Show.
Owner Wesley Yao — who also owns Hanaro Sushi in Bethesda, Poke Dojo in Bethesda, and Kusshi Sushi in North Bethesda — told Bethesda Beat via email that the restaurant will serve Donburi (rice bowls), ramen, poke, and sushi rolls. “We know it‘ll be more quick-service style,” Yao said to The MoCo Show.
Bethesda Beat also reported that Yao didn’t have details on the opening timetable of the restaurant.
Gusto, which opened its Downtown Silver Spring location in 2015, permanently closed in January of this year, citing “the ongoing challenges COVID-19 has presented us and the restaurant industry at large.” The Chantilly, Va. location remains open.
Kusshi Ko joins several upcoming restaurant openings in Silver Spring’s Central Business District, including Black Lion Café, Dog Haus Biergarten, Firepan Korean BBQ, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, Miss Toya’s Creole House, and Flip’d by IHOP.
