Downtown Silver Spring will be kicking off its Sounds of the Season event this Saturday, November 27.
The annual holiday event, which runs through Saturday, December 18, will feature “performances by talented school and community music groups on the Plaza’s Dazzling Center Stage all season long,” according to Downtown Silver Spring’s website.
The kickoff event Saturday will feature:
- Performance from Montgomery Symphony Orchestra Chamber Players, 12 p.m.
- Cheer Station by The Eleanor featuring cocktails and spiked hot cider from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Performance from Clarksburg HS Chamber Singers, 1:30 p.m.
- Community art workshop with Luther Wright
- Performance from High School Cypher, 3 p.m.
- DJ, dancing and prizes from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
In addition to Saturday’s kickoff event, this season’s stage performances include:

12:00 p.m.: Benjamin Banneker MS Noteworthy
1:30 p.m.: High School Cypher
3:00 p.m.: Drop the Mic Acapella
December 11
12:00 p.m.: Powerhouse Brass Quintet
1:30 p.m.: Montgomery Blair High School Chamber Singers and InToneNation
3:00 p.m.: Six Degrees Singers
December 18
1:30 p.m.: Benjamin Banneker MS Concert Choir
3:00 p.m.: Drop the Mic Acapella
