Police Investigating Armed Robbery of Silver Spring 7-Eleven

Detectives from the county’s Major Crimes Division are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect caught on surveillance video during a January 13 armed robbery of a 7-Eleven in the 7900 block of Georgia Ave. in Silver Spring.

“On Thursday, January 13, at approximately 4:19 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the 7-Eleven for the report of a robbery that just occurred,” reads an MCPD news release. “The investigation by detectives determined that an unknown male suspect, wearing a black ski mask, brown jacket, and blue jeans, entered the store and approached the counter. The suspect pointed a handgun at the store clerks, demanded that they open the register, and fired a single round at the wall. The clerks then opened two registers. The suspect climbed over the counter, took an undisclosed amount of money, then ordered the clerks to the back of the store. The suspect left through the front door.

“The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5-feet, 10-inches tall, and average build. Anyone with information regarding this suspect or this crime is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at (240) 773–5070, or contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspects. Callers can remain anonymous.”
