Silver Spring Men Charged with Rockville Homicide

Detectives from the county’s Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged two Silver Spring men with a February 17 homicide in Rockville.

“Jackson Alexander Garcia, age 18 and Malik Dujuan Jefferson, age 23 are being held without bond for the homicide of 22-year-old Jose Osvaldo Genao Romero of Rockville,” reads an MCPD news release.

“On Thursday, February 17, officers from Rockville City Police Department and Montgomery County 1st District responded to the area of 14000 Cove Lane for the report of a shooting that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located Jose Osvaldo Genao Romero at the intersection of Bradley Avenue and Fletcher Place suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers provided life saving measures until Montgomery County Fire and Rescue arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The victim subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

“Garcia and Jefferson have been charged with First Degree Murder. Both men are currently being held at the Central Processing Unit.”
