Kong Dog will be opening a location at the Glenmont Shopping Center in the coming months, according to a report from The MoCo Show.
The Chicago-based Korean corn dog chain will open at the former home of El Encanto at 12335-H Georgia Avenue, as part of their rapid national expansion.
According to Eater, Kong Dog’s original location opened last year in Chicago’s Glenview neighborhood, where it was previously known as Eggsum Holy Cow, going viral on TikTok for their corn dogs’ cheese pulls. They opened a second location last December in Chicago’s Little Italy neighborhood, and the company’s third opened last week in Chicago’s Chinatown. A fourth location is opening soon in Albany, New York.
An opening timetable has not been announced, but The MoCo Show reports that permanent signage has already been installed.
Korean corn dogs have been recently exploding in popularity, with Ssong’s Hot Dogs opening in 2020 at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda and Two Hands Corn Dogs opening soon at Wheaton Mall.
