Suspect Sought in Downtown Silver Spring Burglaries

Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect caught on surveillance video during two residential burglaries in April and May in the 1100 block of Ripley St. in downtown Silver Spring.

“The investigation by detectives has determined that the suspect forcibly entered two residences and fled the scene,” MCPD said in a news release. “Detectives reviewed the surveillance footage in the areas where the burglaries occurred and were able to obtain a description of the suspect. Detectives believe that the same suspect committed the two burglaries.”

The suspect is described as a Black male, between 20 and 35-years-old, medium build, with long black braids tucked into a black jacket, black pants and black/grey shoes.

Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for any information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Anonymous tipsters can call Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1.866.411.TIPS (8477), submit a tip online, or via the P3 Tips app.
