Police Release Additional Video of McDonald’s Armed Robbery Suspect

Montgomery County Police have released additional surveillance video of a suspect sought in connection with an April 5 armed robbery at the McDonald’s restaurant in the 8400 block of Colesville Rd. in downtown Silver Spring.

“On Thursday, April 5, 2022, at approximately 12:15 p.m., 3rd District Officers responded to the above location for an armed robbery that just occurred,” MCPD said in a May 6 news release. “The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect entered the restaurant and waited in line. While waiting, the suspect became irate and eventually cut to the front of the line. When the cashier told the suspect he needed to wait in line, the suspect pulled a folding knife from his waistband, jumped over the counter, and demanded the cashier give him the money from the register. The cashier then fled to the kitchen. The suspect then removed the register drawer, pried it open with the knife, and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.”

MCPD said that the suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6-feet, 2-inches, and 180 pounds. He wore a black winter hat, dark-colored hoodie, blue jeans, and black boots.
