The building at 8229-8231 Georgia Ave., currently home to Society Restaurant & Lounge, is for sale, according to a listing from Larry Rosen, agent for the property owner.
The asking price is $3.84 million for the building, which is about 6,300 square feet, including the enclosed rooftop area.
The restaurant has about seven more years left on its lease, with two five-year options to extend.
The property is currently zoned as Commercial/Residential 3.0 with an allowed building height of 110 feet. Under the proposed Silver Spring Downtown and Adjacent Community Plan (a revision of the sector plan) the allowable height would be 130 feet with an increase in the allowed density.
