Suspects Arrested in Silver Spring Liquor Store Burglary

Montgomery County Police have arrested and charged three suspects — 19-year-old Mavi Mouusimi of Silver Spring, 21-year-old Jose Saquic-Castro of Silver Spring, and a juvenile female — with the April 23 commercial burglary of a liquor store in the 8700 block of Flower Avenue in Silver Spring.

“On Saturday, April 23, 2022, at approximately 7:30 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of a commercial burglary,” MCPD said in a news release. “The investigation by detectives has determined that Mouusimi broke a window and entered the business. Once inside, Mouusimi began to steal property. Saquic-Castro and a juvenile female reached through the broken window and stole additional property. The suspects then fled the scene with the stolen property.

“Probable cause was developed to identify Mavi Mouusimi as a suspect. On Thursday, May 12, 2022, he was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit, where he was charged with second-degree burglary. He was released on a $3000 percentage bond.

“Through further investigation, Jose Saquic-Castro was identified as the additional male suspect. Detectives applied for and received an arrest warrant, charging Saquic-Castro with second-degree burglary. On Wednesday, May 25, 2022, Saquic-Castro was arrested at his residence where officers also located a juvenile female who was subsequently identified as the female suspect involved in the burglary.

“The juvenile female was arrested, transported to the 3rd District Station and charged with second-degree burglary. She was then released to her guardian. Saquic-Castro was transported to the Central Processing Unit, where he is currently held without bond, pending a bond review.”
