Lewi Cafe in downtown Silver Spring appears to be closed and it may be permanent.
The doors were locked when a Source staffer visited this morning; interior equipment and fixtures have been removed. A phone call to the café rang continuously and no one answered.
The café and coffee shop, located in The Bonifant apartment building at 911 Bonifant St., opened in 2018. Lewi Cafe’s owners also operated Snow Cafe in Ellicott City, which was converted to a Lewi Cafe and is now closed, according to Yelp.
