Dog Haus to Offer Free Haus Dogs for National Hot Dog Day

Dog Haus Biergarten will offer free Haus Dogs to celebrate National Hot Dog Day on Wednesday, July 20, according to a post on the restaurant’s Instagram account.

All three area locations — Downtown Silver Spring, Bethesda, and Kentlands — will participate in the offer. To receive a free Haus Dog, text “FREE DOG” to (833) 440-1110.

Dog Haus Biergarten opened last December in the former home of Lebanese Taverna at 933 Ellsworth Drive in the Downtown Silver Spring development. The chain first opened in 2010 in Pasadena, Calif., and began franchising in 2013. Currently, there are more than 35 restaurants open, with more “coming soon,” and more than 130 locations sold to franchisees, according to the company website.

The menu features dogs, sausages, and burgers, as well as plant-based options with a variety of toppings. For example, the Thai Fighter includes spicy Thai currywurst, wild arugula, pickled jalapenos, and spicy basil aioli, while the Downtown is a smoked bacon-wrapped dog, caramelized onions, pickled peppers, mayo, mustard, and ketchup.
