Sweet Sweet Kitchen is set to open its second location this Friday, according to an announcement posted on the restaurant’s Instagram account.
The restaurant, located at 500 H St. NE in the District’s H Street Corridor, will host a grand opening celebration from 12:30 p.m. Friday until 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
We reported last May that Sweet Sweet Kitchen was planning to open a location this summer in the District. Falls Church, Va.-based Metropolitan Restaurant Brokers represented the restaurant in the transaction.
As for the Bonifant St. location, Sweet Sweet Kitchen’s owner, who would only identify himself as “Chef Mosada”, remains committed to Silver Spring despite the location’s lease expiring in October of 2023. “I will never leave Silver Spring,” Mosada said to the Source in May. “I’m [already] looking for a new location.”
Sweet Sweet Kitchen opened in February 2021 with a menu that included dishes such as curry chicken, oxtail and jollof rice, and cassava leaf options.
