Suspect Charged in Fatal Shooting of Rideshare Driver

Prince George’s County Police say they have arrested and charged a Temple Hills man with the fatal shooting of a Silver Spring rideshare driver.

PGPD Homicide Unit detectives arrested and charged 21-year-old Kiayon Strowbridge of Temple Hills with first and second-degree murder and related charges in connection with the fatal shooting of 55-year-old Nesredin Esleiman of Silver Spring.

In the early hours of August 10, 2022, patrol officers were called to the 5400 block of Chesterfield Drive in Temple Hills for a welfare check, PGPD said in a news release. Officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound inside a vehicle. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  

Esleiman was operating as a rideshare driver at the time of the murder, according to the preliminary investigation. The motive of the shooting was an attempted robbery, PGPD said.

Strowbridge is being held without bond.
