Detectives with the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in an August 25 shooting that killed 21-year-old Juwaan Henry of Silver Spring.
“At approximately 8:16 p.m. [on Thursday, August 25], members of the First District responded to the [800 block of 7th Street, NW in the District] for the report of a shooting,” MPD said in a news release. “Upon arrival, the members located an adult male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital. After all life-saving efforts failed, the victim was pronounced dead.”
The suspect was caught on a nearby surveillance video (photos shown above).
Anyone who has knowledge of the suspect is asked to call MPD at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to MPD’s text tip line at 50411. MPD currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible in this case.
