Silver Spring-based Localist, a provider of software for event calendars for higher education institutions located at 8484 Georgia Ave. #675, was acquired by Concept3D of Denver, the latter company announced yesterday.
Concept3D provides colleges and universities with software that allows them to create virtual 3D, interactive campus maps, virtual tours and other services. The company says it serves more than 70% of the top 100 schools in the nation with nearly 1,000 active customers, including entertainment and sports venues.
“In our time working together, we developed a close relationship with Concept3D,” said Mykel Nahorniak, CEO of Localist, in a press release. “Combining forces was a no-brainer—it was a natural fit across the board.”
“Localist and Concept3D have a shared belief that events and in-person connections are key to building community, ultimately making a student experience better the first day they step onto campus,” added Gordon Boyes, CEO of Concept3D. ‘By bringing our solutions together, combining people, community, and location, users can easily connect, driving engagement and fostering togetherness.”
The company did not provide the cost of the acquisition.
