Montgomery County Police are investigating two shootings that occurred Wednesday in Silver Spring.
Officers responded to a shooting at an apartment complex near Colony Rd. and Northampton Drive at approximately 4 a.m. As of Wednesday morning, one person had died, two people had been transported to the hospital and a third person was treated on the scene. The identities of the victims have not been released by the MCPD.

At approximately 6 p.m., officers were called to the 9000 block of Piney Branch Rd. for a shooting. An MCPD spokesperson said that officers found an unidentified man who was shot. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.
MCPD said that K9 officers fixed on a scent and led investigators into a wooded area where they found a body. Police did not say how the person may have died or whether the body is associated with the shooting.
Currently, no information is available regarding the identity of the deceased.
