County Police Investigating Homicide Near Piney Branch Road

County detectives from the Major Crimes Division are investigating a homicide that occurred on Piney Branch on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Police responded at about 5:55 p.m. to the report of a shooting in the 9000 block of Piney Branch Road.

“Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital in serious but stable condition,” according to a press release.

One of two victims, identified as 20-year-old Edvin Moises Agustin Leon, was found dead in a wooded area by county K9 officers, the release said. An autopsy by the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore determined the cause of death.

The investigation is ongoing.
