Suspect Sought in Attempted Armed Robbery at Karen’s Seafood

Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect caught on surveillance video during an attempted armed robbery at Karen’s Seafood in the 13800 block of Outlet Drive.

According to a press release issued by MCPD, officers from the 3rd District responded at approximately 7:28 p.m. on December 7 to Karen’s Seafood for the report of an attempted armed robbery that had just occurred. According to detectives, an unknown suspect entered Karen’s Seafood armed with a firearm. Multiple patrons inside the restaurant were approached by the suspect, who pointed his firearm at them and demanded money. The suspect approached the cashier when the patrons failed to comply with the suspect’s demands.

For reasons still under investigation, the suspect fled the scene without obtaining any money from the establishment.

The suspect is described as a Black male, 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 180-200 pounds. He was wearing a black mask, a black hooded coat, black pants with white stripes down the side, and dark shoes. He was carrying a firearm and a gray backpack.
