The Breakfast Club to Open Thursday in Downtown Silver Spring

After months of delays, The Breakfast Club will make its debut in downtown Silver Spring on Thursday, Dec. 22, according to owner Jason Miskiri.

“We are happy to announce the opening of The Breakfast Club in Silver Spring, where we aim to serve happiness to our customers through delicious, comfort food,” Miskiri said. “Offering breakfast all day, lunch and dinner, and an extraordinary restaurant experience.”

Located at the Fenton Silver Spring apartment complex at 8240 Fenton St. in downtown Silver Spring, The Breakfast Club is adjacent to the also-incoming Black Lion Café, which had been scheduled to open on November 1. Supply chain constraints and delays in inspections have been cited as reasons for the delay in opening the restaurants.

The Breakfast Club’s menu, shown below, features all-day brunch items, including mimosas, alongside “Southern American with a twist of Caribbean” cuisine. The menu also includes Caribbean fried benedict, vanilla bean French toast with champagne berry compote, and cinnamon roll pancakes, as well as lobster rolls, chicken and waffles, and shrimp and grits. Menu item prices have not yet been determined; cocktails range from $13 to $17.

The restaurant is Miskiri’s third restaurant in downtown Silver Spring; he opened The Angry Jerk on Georgia Ave. last year. Miskiri opened Society Restaurant & Lounge in 2012, which he co-owns with his sister, Samantha Khamis-el-Miskiri. The building housing Society was placed for sale last May.

Hours for the restaurant will be from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. to midnight on Friday, and 8 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.

The Breakfast Club joins a slate of recent openings in downtown Silver Spring, including Firepan Korean BBQ, Kusshi Sushi, and Sashe’s Dominican Beauty Salon & ICU Beauty Bar.
