Black Lion Café Opening Delayed Again

The opening of Black Lion Café has been delayed yet again, according to an announcement on the shop’s Instagram account.

The café was scheduled to open on Monday, Jan. 2 at the Fenton Silver Spring apartment complex at 8240 Fenton St. in downtown Silver Spring. The Instagram post cited staff training as the reason for the delay: “…we are currently undergoing training. But stay excited because we will be opening soon!”

A new opening date has not yet been announced.

The Rockville-based coffee shop and roaster, owned by Emmanuel Manoles, specializes in coffees from three regions in Ethiopia—Sidama, Harrar, and Yirgacheffe, all roasted in small batches in-house, according to the café’s website.
