Police: McDonald’s Stabbing Suspect Arrested

Montgomery County Police say that they have arrested 34-year-old Theodore Andrew Brandy in connection with a stabbing that occurred Tuesday morning at the McDonald’s restaurant in downtown Silver Spring.

Three adult males were allegedly stabbed by Brandy on Tuesday morning inside a McDonald’s located at 8400 Colesville Rd., MCPD said in a news release.

When firefighters and officers arrived, two adult males were found injured but not in a life-threatening condition. Both victims were transported to a local hospital. Additionally, a third individual, also an adult male, was injured and left the scene. Eventually, he returned to the scene and notified the police of his injuries. The third victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

As part of their investigation, Third District officers interviewed business owners and patrons in downtown Silver Spring regarding Brandy, who has no known address. During the officers’ community engagement effort, they received a tip from an employee of an area business and were able to locate Brandy at Ellsworth Place, where he was taken into custody without incident.

Brandy was taken into custody at approximately 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, MCPD said.

An arrest warrant has been requested, consisting of three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of attempted murder, and three counts of weapon possession.
