As reported by Bethesda Beat, this is not the first instance of cars doing donuts in Silver Spring. More than 100 drivers gathered in a parking lot in the 12000 block of Cherry Hill Rd. in November 2021, culminating in several blocked intersections in downtown Silver Spring.
A surveillance camera was installed last week at the intersection of Fenton St. and Ellsworth Drive following a carjacking outside the nearby Chick-fil-A restaurant. It was the third carjacking in downtown Silver Spring within a two-week period.
