Uniqlo, Gold’s Gym to Open in Downtown Silver Spring: Report

Uniqlo and Gold’s Gym are coming to Downtown Silver Spring later this year, according to a report from Washington Business Journal.

Uniqlo, a subsidiary of Japan’s Fast Retailing Co., will occupy 10,058 square feet at 914 Ellsworth Drive, WBJ reports. The space was formerly home to retailer Ulta Beauty, which relocated in 2020 to 8510 Fenton St. in the same development. XOA Lifestyle occupied the space for a short time before closing in November 2021.

It will be Uniqlo’s fifth Washington, D.C. metropolitan area store, joining Tysons, Fair Lakes, North Bethesda, and Union Station.

Gold’s Gym will take over the nearly 25,000 square feet that Washington Sports Clubs vacated in the fall of 2020 at 901 Wayne Ave.

Both Uniqlo and Gold’s Gym are expected to open in the fall of this year.
