The months-delayed Nike Unite store in Downtown Silver Spring is set to open on Thursday, Feb. 23, according to store employees.
It appears that the store is largely stocked, and window decorations featuring popular area locations have been installed, including Rock Creek Park and Beach Drive.
The store, located at 910 Ellsworth Dr. in the Downtown Silver Spring development, was originally scheduled to open last November but was then delayed until this month. The space was formerly home to DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse, which relocated to Ellsworth Place last year.
Nike Unite’s operating hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The Downtown Silver Spring store is part of Beaverton, Ore. -based Nike’s plan to open 200 stores in North America and Europe over the next few years. Nike Unite opened its doors last week in the H Street Corridor of the District; a location is also expected to open this year at Bethesda Row. The company’s Georgetown store closed last month and will relocate to another part of the neighborhood.
Uniqlo and Gold’s Gym are expected to join Nike Unite in Downtown Silver Spring later this year.
