Police Release Video in Fatal Metrobus Shooting

Surveillance video has been released by Montgomery County Police in connection with the fatal shooting of 19-year-old Justice T’Ziyan Elliott on a Metrobus last Friday.

At approximately 7:40 p.m. on Friday, Third District officers on patrol in the Vista at White Oak apartments observed a WMATA Metrobus pulled over on Lockwood Drive. After stopping to assist, the officers discovered that a shooting had taken place inside the bus.

The victim had been removed from the bus when the officers arrived, and they attempted life-saving measures until the county’s Fire and Rescue Service arrived. 19-year-old Justice T’Ziyan Elliott of Silver Spring was pronounced dead at the scene.

During the investigation, it was discovered that Elliott was seated in the back of the bus when the suspect boarded and confronted Elliott. After exchanging words, the suspect pulled out a handgun, shot Elliott, and fled the bus, MCPD said.

The suspect is described as a Black male, thin build, approximately 18 to 20 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches to six feet tall, with short black hair. He was carrying a white backpack with black trim and wearing a black ski mask, black coat with fur around the hood black jeans, and black shoes.
