Detectives with the county’s Major Crimes Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in the shooting death of Nathaniel Potts, who was killed on his 29th birthday outside of the Summit Hills apartment complex in downtown Silver Spring.
Second District officers responded to the parking lot of the Summit Hills apartment complex in the 8500 block of 16th St. at approximately 3:05 a.m. on December 2 for a report of a shooting that had just taken place, MCPD said in a press release. When officers arrived, they found the victim, 29-year-old Nathaniel Potts of Silver Spring, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was pronounced dead.
The investigation is ongoing and no suspects have been arrested, MCPD said.
