The Angry Jerk To Offer Catering, Expand to Downtown Columbia: Reports

Downtown Silver Spring Caribbean restaurant The Angry Jerk will now offer catering services, as well as expand into downtown Columbia, according to reports.

As reported by The Washington Informer, The Angry Jerk owner Jason Miskiri announced that the restaurant will offer catering services for both traditional events such as birthdays and weddings, as well as corporate and team events:

“At The Angry Jerk, we pride ourselves on providing top-of-the-line customer service to those who visit our storefront, but the goal is much bigger,” Miskiri said. “We believe that by offering our authentic and flavorful options beyond our doors and directly to customers’ events, we will see increased exposure and new customers as we push our in-house catering services.”

Past clients have included The Washington Post and the University of Maryland’s football and basketball teams, according to the report.

Additionally, Commercial Observer reports that The Angry Jerk has leased a 2,200-square-foot space at the Juniper apartment complex, located near the Merriweather Post Pavilion at 6000 Merriweather Drive. The Angry Jerk was represented in its lease by Marc Rosendorf of The Rosendorf Group.

The Angry Jerk joins a slate of restaurants opening this year in downtown Columbia. According to Commercial Observer, these include Blackwall Barn & Lodge, Banditos, GameOn Bar + Arcade, Mighty Quinn’s BBQ, Smashing Grapes, and Medium Rare.

Miskiri opened The Angry Jerk at 8223 Georgia Ave. in 2021. His other businesses include The Breakfast Club, which opened last December at 8240 Fenton St., and Society Restaurant & Lounge, which he opened at 8229 Georgia Ave. in 2012 and jointly owns with his sister Samantha Khamis-el-Miskiri.
