Construction is finally underway at the Solaire Social food hall in downtown Silver Spring.
In April, we reported that the county’s Board of License Commissioners held a hearing on March 16 on the application for an alcohol license for the food hall at the Solaire 8200 Dixon apartment building, but little else seemed to have progressed. Since our last report, Springfield, Va.-based general contractor ADI Construction has begun work at the site.
Chef Akhtar Nawab of Hospitality HQ is curating the 11-vendor Solaire Social, the first of two announced food halls set to open in downtown Silver Spring; Commas will open later this year at Ellsworth Place.
