Detectives from the county’s Third District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help identifying suspects caught on surveillance video during an armed robbery in the 900 block of Silver Spring Ave. in downtown Silver Spring.
According to an MCPD press release, the investigation revealed that at approximately 5 a.m. on Sunday, June 4, the victims were walking along Mayor Lane when they were approached by three unknown suspects. During the incident, one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and struck one of the victims in the head with the weapon. The suspects demanded property from the victims, which the victims complied with. All three suspects then ran towards the 900 block of Thayer Ave. with the victims’ property.
The suspects are described as three Black males, approximately 20 to 30 years old, wearing dark clothing. The first suspect wore his hair in braids or twists, while the other two suspects had short hair, MCPD said.
