Restaurants in the area continue to receive local and national recognition for their quality and diversity, including The Big Greek Café’s inclusion in Tasting Table’s “The Best Gyros You Can Find In Every State.”
According to the article, The Big Greek Café’s gyro is the best in Maryland, noting that their food is prepared “just like yia yia used to make”:

The Big Greek Café was founded in 2009 in downtown Silver Spring and has since grown to 7 locations, including Laurel, which opened in March, along with operating a food truck. Mashed praised the restaurant’s Famous Gyro last year, commenting: “With the gyro, we say go big or go home, and this one, in particular, is the entire package.”
